Aubrey Malone uses new information from Irish Film Institute notes on productions and from historic films, film journals, and fan publications to follow the actress as she grows up in Dublin and reaches the peak of her popularity in Hollywood. Malone is also a bit more in-depth about the relationship between the actress and frequent costar John Wayne and her relationship with director John Ford and he addresses the hotly debated question about whether the screen goddess could be considered a feminist, or antifeminist figure. O'Hara was a film icon in the golden age of film, however her inclination for privateness and her habit of making comments in public that did not align with her personal choices made her an unsolved mystery.
